Landmarks are non-destructible structures found scattered across the world map. They are often unique and can be used as way-points by players to help with navigation. They also help provide some diversity to certain regions. A list of landmarks can be found below.

Major Landmarks

These are unique or rare Landmarks that are generally uncommon to see on the world map. Other than decoration, they tend to hold some importance to the Lore of the game.

Great Warden Dam

A large dam in Howl County on the Austriaca Reservoir with a road and preplaced railway tracks on it. It links the town of the same name to Slipgate Outpost, with the Checkpoint Titim Keep at the middle point (Location). Despite its name, this ancient dam predates the Wardens, having already been existence before the time of Callahan, with it's current monicker having been given to the Dam as an offering of peace.[1] It is also know Callahan used to have a homestead overlooking the structure.

Sunflower Girl Statue

A small statue of a girl found in The Linn of Mercy northeast of Ulster Falls (Location), surrounded by a field of sunflowers in the shape of a sun. This specific statue has an inscription that can be read upon interaction.

Ichorus Amphitheatre

An Amphitheatre located Kalokai (Location). It is known that both Mesea and Veli share a history of exhibition combat to sharpen their senses and provide entertainment.[2] The Amphitheatre may be a testament of the history of the region, as the locals had in the past long championed a life of hedonism and enjoying all earthly pleasures.[3] The tradition presumably continues to this day, with an Old Fight Advertisement still being found on the Amphitheatre.

Temple of the Third Spears

Also known as the Cirillo House,[4] this old fortress is located southeast of Patridia in Acrithia. It is believed to have been the home of the Velian Colonial Avery Cirillo. However, at some point it appears to have been taken over by a large group of refugees, as evidenced by a Makeshift Encampment found inside. Several drawings made by children can also be seen, particularly around a Makeshift Altar at the core of the structure.[5][6]

The general layout of the fort bears a striking resemblance to Helm's Deep from the "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" movie adaptation.

Grave of Thea Maro

A unique monument the heart of the town of Therizo in Terminus. It is the resting place of the late Velian hero Thea Maro and high ranking members of the Swords of Maro, each sword corresponding to one of them. Curiously, one of the smaller swords appears to be broken, likely corresponding to the grave of a character known as the Traitor.

It can be interacted with, giving access to the Garve of Thea Maro lore piece.

Red River Battlesite

A small ruined fortification found in Red River. It site of the great Battle of Red River, that saw the Hands of Veli under command of Fionn Callahan defeat an assault from the Velian Republic Colonials in a final last stand during the Velian Civil War.[7] Nearby the fortification an old cannon piece can be found, which upon interaction provides some readable lore.

During the Red River Demo (a playable recreation of the historic battle) players fought on a similar set piece, which was recreated when the region was added to the game.

Abandoned Mine

The collapsed entrance to an abandoned mine, with a small set of ruins on the front, located north of Eidolo in Fisherman's Row. The front ruins have a small campsite with a small bag that on interaction provides the Hand Carved Figures readable lore piece. There is a second part to this location at the foot of the cliffside to the east, where small pier with an entrance that presumably once connected to the mine tunnels can be found, which contains the Mouldy Letter piece.

During the Colonial invasion of the island, a group of refugees led by a Warden soldier called Morgan fled to this location and used it as a temporary holdout, having built a hidden alcove on the cliff side and stacking it with supplies. Morgan would eventually leave to find help to rescue her companions, after which the mine would be collapsed with explosives.[8][9]

Smuggler's Fort

A small ruined stronghold on a hill near the Oleander Homestead in The Heartlands (Location). It is part of a smuggling network for various regional products from both sides of the conflict moving to the other. It contains many pieces of contraband such as Wine Casks, a Tobacco Case, or a Book Archive.

Den of Thieves

A small archipelago located in northeastern Godcrofts that serves as a hideout and cove for local smugglers and pirates (Location). It contains some readable lore and items such as a Skeleton with an old Old Flask, several peculiar Hollow Books and even an Island Outhouse.

Abandoned Bunker

A unique structure found in The Drowned Vale, with an Abandoned Armoury located nearby (Location). It cuts through a small mountain formation and can be accessed from either side. The Abandoned Bunker appears to have been the home of an engineer working on repurposing old equipment.[10] There exist two unique lore interactables called Old Letter and Dead Bird.

Hanged Men Campsite

A relatively large campsite located in The Fingers where some Hanged Men appear to have taken up residence. Their flag can be seen hoisted on some of the wooden structures of the camp. Placed around the camp, several Peculiar Books can be found here.

At the centre of the location a table can be found with an Unmarked Letter directed to a Hanged Man by the name of Dudley Balderstone. The writer is unknown, but hinted to be Captain Ur Deadtooth, the leader of the Reavers that operated from Old Captain in the Fingers.

Hanged Men Execution Site

A series of gruesome crucifixion sites, a punishment for deserters. Due to this, the stakes and their victims has been taken by the Hanged Men as their sigil.[11] The biggest of these can be found in Loch Mór south of Tomb of the First, which upon interaction provides the Inner Dialogue lore piece. The others can be seen at the Den of Knaves in King's Cage and the beach northwest of Therizo in Terminus.

Shocking Massacre

The site of a seemingly supernatural shocking massacre at an abandoned camp in Reaching Trail. Blood and bodies can be seen strewn about, presumably having laid there for many moons, yet despite this the coals of the campfire are still burning hot, as if someone had visited the area recently.[12]

Nearby one can find a cursed loughcaster rifle leaking blood which belongs to a character called Cara that can be picked up and interacted with.[13]

Airfield

An Airfield in Stonecradle, and area we are told has been home to many airfields and grave unlucky aces. It is very notable, as so far there are no other known airfields in the world. Dotted around the location, several crashed planes can be seen.

Minor Landmarks

Minor Landmarks are less important and unique locations, mainly interesting set pieces and decorations. Some can still contain pieces of readable lore.

Callahan Statues

These are statues bearing the resemblance of Iain Callahan, the founder and first Archon of Caoiva. They are usually found in towns in the north and centre of the playable map. While most cannot be interacted with, some contain pieces of readable lore. The list of known statues is:

  • A unique statue of Callahan at the centre of The Plaza section of Abandoned Ward in The Deadlands.
  • Destroyed busts of Callahan inside The Blemish in The Heartlands at L8k8, K8k6, and K8k9.
  • There exist several statues of Callahan riding a horse:

Other Statues

Statues and monuments that cannot be interacted with, but have some sort of unique model or quality to them.

  • Statue of three men just south of the Kirknell Town Hall in Viper Pit at E9k5. It depicts a Warden soldier, a merchant and a governor or politician.
    • Curiously, the soldier is depicted wearing an old Warden uniform from the times of Iain Callahan, which was also used by the Hands of Veli during the Velian Civil War.
  • A fountain crowned by a Sunflower in Abandoned Ward in Deadlands.

Abandoned Wreckages

These are a collection of varied wreckages and ruined vehicles dotted across the map, remnants of past fighting. They can usually be found in large numbers in old battlefields.

  • To the south-east of Liberation Point] in The Deadlands lies a disused ancient artillery piece.
  • In the western part of Abandoned Ward in The Deadlands, between two buildings, is a ruined Devitt Mk. III light tank.

Destroyed Bunkers

A set of destroyed and abandoned bunkers. Unlike the Relic Vaults, they cannot be accessed or interacted with in any way.

Destroyed Bunker locations:

  • A collapsed bunker entrance on the mountains east of the Roilfront in Loch Mór.
  • A collapsed bunker entrance on the northwestern section of Teichotima in Origin.
  • An abandoned ammo storage bunker north of Belaying Trace in Allod's Bight.

Ancient Ruins

A series of Ancient Ruins strewn around the map, seemingly some of the oldest constructions that can be found, likely dating to the period commonly referred to as the Less Sophisticated Times. They all share an architectural style reminiscent the real-life classical period. There exist columns, archways and small "building structures" which can vary in amount and level of destruction. They can be found both in the far north and the south, being covered in moss or snow depending on the location.

Notably, there exists a set of ancient ruins around the Relic Base of Tomb of the First in Loch Mór. They have unique archways in a circular pattern not found anywhere else, as well as a considerable amount of the other more common ruins. It is not known who is buried here, but it must have been a figure of great importance.

Other Ancient Ruin locations:

  • A small set of ruins north-west of Sun's Hollow in The Deadlands.
  • South of Prairie Bazaar in The Linn of Mercy.
  • A medium sized site south-west of Moon's Copse in Loch Mór.
  • A ruined archway next to the road north of Scurvyshire in Allod's Bight.
  • A large set of ruins west of Violethome in Great March.
  • A notable ruin complex around the Oster Wall Relic Base in Marban Hollow.
  • A very destroyed small set of ruins in Blackthroat in Viper Pit.
  • Small ruins southwest of the town of Elskford in Reaching Trail.
  • A large amounts of ruins dotted around Brodytown in Reaching Trail.
  • A notable set of columns and arches around the intersection at Bastard's Block in Morgen's Crossing.
  • Some ruins in an enclosed area in the north-western section of Callum's Keep in Callum's Cape.
  • A large site on the beaches and smaller ruins on the cliffsides of Conclave in The Oarbreaker Isles.

Churches

Located in populated areas like cities and towns, there exist many churches around the map, mainly in the middle and northern portions of the map. Their function is meant to be as places of worship of Father Sun, the main religion in Caoiva, but in-game they serve as unique Garrisoned Houses. Their spires are crowned by a depiction of a Sunflower, the religion's main symbol, and their stained-glass windows also bear similar symbols. They are commonly surrounded by graveyards, but this isn't always the case.

There exists a unique Church around the area of Fengari in the Great March, which is fully ruined and cannot be entered. Behind it is found a graveyard, notable for containing the Grave of Dorian Grivas and a hastily dug Child's Grave. We are told it is tradition to perform a pilgrimage from the Old Swan to the Fengari Church while bringing sunflowers.[14] One such attempt seems to have ended poorly, as a bloodied pair of sunflowers can be found laying on the ground close the church, likely related to the aforementioned child's grave.

Other Church Locations:

Crashed Planes

Several of these crashed fighter planes can be found around the map. They are known to be of Colonial origin, deemed "Toxot 88-A" fighter planes. They can also be found within the plane hangars of each faction's Home Region.

Crashed Plane Locations:

  • Howl County, Hungry Wolf, E7k1
  • Howl County, D8k5

Campsites

Throughout the world, various Campsites can be found, which you can interact with by pressing E. They historically have been used to mark the locations of future lore pieces in the area, and due to this many have some form of readable lore nearby.
