Deployment is the process of Players joining the world from the Home Region.

Deploying from Home Region

Players in the Home Region can go to the Deployment areas marked with MapIconSkirmishC.png or MapIconSkirmishW.png on the map and open the Deployment Screen by pressing E. They can choose one of the Deployment Points represented by black diamonds of varying sizes on the screen. Putting the mouse cursor on a diamond gives information about its Region such as whether it is contested (enemy possesses at least one zone) and a rating of the friendly player population based on the average of the last 10-30min (None=0, Low=1-25, Med=25-60, High=60+). If a particular deployment point requires reinforcement it will have a blinking white circle (red circle if urgent).

Selecting a diamond spawns the player at the corresponding location equipped with an unloaded Pistol and a Hammer, and with two 8mm magazines in their backpack. The selected deployment point is also assigned as one of their respawn points.

Deploying does not require or consume Soldier Supplies, unlike respawns after death.

There's a limit to how frequently a player can deploy. They cannot deploy if their second to last deployment was less than 400 seconds ago (6min 40s).

Deployment Points

Only the following Bases and Large Ships can be deployment points:

Garrison Size

A deployment point can only be deployed to if it has a positive "Garrison Size" and deploying there reduces its Garrison Size. A deployment point's current Garrison Size is visually represented by the relative size of its black diamond on the Deployment Screen. An approximate rating of the Garrison Size can also be viewed on the map by putting the mouse cursor on the deployment point's map icon (if it has one): "None" (0 player deployment), "Low" (1-9), "Med" (10-29), "High"(30+). Upon construction, a Base's Garrison Size start empty except Border Bases which start at "High".

Garrison Size grows at a rate determined by Garrison Activity which is the number of players that have one of their spawn assigned there and remain in the Region. An approximate rating of the Garrison Activity can be viewed on the map by putting the mouse cursor on the deployment point's map icon (if it has one). Small & Large Garrison upgrades enhances the effect of Garrison Activity.

For Town Bases and Relic Bases in friendly starting territory the Garrison Size also slightly grows on its own even without any Garrison Activity.

The system ensures a huge group of players cannot suddenly deploy to a newly built base from Home Region.

Deployment Queue

If there are too many players in the destination region, the player is placed in a queue and must wait until a spot is freed. They do not have to wait directly at the Deployment Area, once in the queue they can go anywhere as long as they stay in the Home Region. Once a spot is reserved for the player they are automatically deployed to their destination.

Up to 170 players per faction can be in the same region. However if a region is contested (enemy controls at least one Region Zone) the ratio of players of each faction in that region is limited for balance purposes. A faction can be limited to 25 players in a contested region if the enemy faction has no players in it.

Trivia

  • The Deployment System was introduced in Update 0.29.
  • The deployment points displayed on the deployment screen are only updated once every minute.
