General Info

Crew

The Silverhand Chieftain - Mk. VI houses a crew of four soldiers:

  • Driver (Seat 1)
    • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the tank
  • Cannoneer (Gunner) (Seat 2)
    • Controls the movement, reloading, and firing of the hull-mounted 250mm main Mortar Cannon
    • Uses the Mouse Scroll Wheel to adjust the firing distance
  • Secondary Gunner (Seat 3)
    • Controls the movement, reloading, and firing of the turret's dual 12.7mm Machine Guns
  • Commander (Seat 4)
    • Capable of directing the tank crew, as well as giving them a better overview of the battlefield
    • Can open up the cupola (hatch) by pressing E, which allows the player to use their secondary, such as a binocular

Armament

The Silverhand Chieftain - Mk. VI is equipped with two main armaments:

  • 12.7mm Twin Barrel Machine Gun
    • Mounted on the turret (can rotate 360 degrees, turns 35° per second)
    • Ammo Used: 12.7mm
    • Effective Range: 35 meters
    • Maximum Range: 40 meters
    • Reload Duration: 5 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 240 rounds per minute
    • High velocity barrel increases damage by 20% (66-99 damage)
    • Magazine Size: 200 rounds
    • Accuracy: pretty good
    • Stability: Loses accuracy during long bursts
  • 250mm Mortar
    • Mounted in the hull (60 degree firing arc)
    • Ammo Used: 250mm
    • Range: 6-25 meters
    • Reload Duration: 5.5 seconds
    • Firing Duration: 2 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 8 per minute

Inventory

It has two dedicated ammo slots that can only hold 5 250mm shells and 30 12.7mm magazines.

Health & Armor

The Silverhand Chieftain - Mk. VI has 3100 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Heavy Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire, shrapnel, and 12.7mm machine guns, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. But heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are a real threat to it.
It has subsystems that have a chance to be disabled by heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry if hit specifically: Tracks: 30% (Anti-Tank Mines always disable them), Fuel Tank: 15%, Turret/Cannon: 20%, Second Turret/Cannon: 30%.
It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 27% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses.
It takes 170 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health, subsystems, and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

Storage & Transport

The Silverhand Chieftain - Mk. VI can be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport or Storage Ship.

It can be packaged into a large Shippable and transported only by certain Shipping Vehicles (Barge, Freighter, Storage Ship, Flatbed Car, or Large Crane).

Tactics

The Silverhand Chieftain - Mk. VI is specifically designed to destroy enemy static defenses at close range, with concrete structures being the most susceptible to 250mm shells. Emplacements are also high-value targets, but all of this depends on how dangerous they are compared to other defensive structures in the area. 250mm shells excel at breaking concrete, so T3 bunkers are high-priority targets. Suicidally charging concrete bunkers, preferably with multiple Chieftains, can smash holes in enemy lines, though usually with the loss of all tanks involved. Due to its short-ranged weapon, small inventory space, and helplessness against armored enemies, the Chieftain requires support in order to get close to its targets and be used effectively.

Due to the small inventory space, more Chieftains may be required in order to fully take down an enemy concrete structure. This weakness can be mitigated somewhat by bringing along additional 250mm in trucks or on pallets.

The twin-barrelled, high-velocity 12.7mm machine guns housed in the turret make the Chieftain a top-of-the-line anti-infantry vehicle. It can also destroy unarmored vehicles and Tier 1 structures. The slow turn speed of the turret leaves it vulnerable to flankers, but any infantry caught by its guns will be mowed down quickly. The Chieftain can effectively support friendly tank lines against enemy infantry and structures. Its high health and armor allow it to survive a few hits as it retreats from enemy armor.

It is important to protect the Chieftain from enemy armored vehicles and flanking infantry with AT weaponry. Friendly infantry can support it by watching its flanks and flushing out enemy AT infantry hiding in trenches or structures.

Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and multiple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the tank. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.

Tips

  • Like all vehicles that use large shells, they can be quickly submitted into them without accessing their inventory
    • While this can be done for all vehicles, it should only be done if they can carry/use large items
  1. Equip the shell and walk up to the vehicle
  2. Submit the shell into the vehicle - press V
