- The Cascadier 873's seems to be based on an amalgamation of the Mauser C96 pistol and the Bergmann-Bayard pistol.
- The word "Cascade" refers to a small waterfall, often one of a group. As a verb, the word means something that falls quickly and in large amounts.[1] This is likely a reference to the gun's three round bursts.
