This article is timeless and should be accurate for any version of the game.

The primary infantry rifle of the Colonial Legion. Its predecessor, The Volta Repeater, was a sturdy, reliable firearm but had many limitations, namely, fire rate. The Argenti solves this limitation as well as being more compact and lightweight.
In-game description

The Argenti r.II Rifle is the standard Rifle of the Colonial faction.

Description

The Argenti r.II is the basic rifle for the Colonial faction. It has slightly less range and accuracy than its Warden counterpart, the No.2 Loughcaster, but makes up for it with a higher fire rate and substantially lower encumbrance. It has the same damage-per-shot as the No.2 Loughcaster, typically downing a target in two shots at close range.

The Soldier Uniform reduces the Argenti's Encumbrance by 25%.

Tactics

Nighttime engagements suit the Argenti very well - the reduced field of view from the darkness is just within its effective range. A decent fire rate allows the user to quickly down enemies before they can retreat back out of sight.

In the open field, when facing Loughcaster users, the Argenti is at a significant disadvantage. Use of concealment and cover are critical to closing distance with the enemy and bringing the Argenti's superior rate of fire to bear.

Trivia

  • The Argenti r.II seems to be based on the Swedish Automatgevär m/42 (based on its upper receiver), the Italian Cei-Rigotti Rifle and the American M14 Rifle
  • The word “Argenti” is likely the subjunctive form of the Italian word “Argento” meaning “to be plated in silver” in a metaphorical sense.
  • The Argenti r.II was initially more inaccurate but was changed in a hotpatch almost immediately.
