A deadly, long-range sniper rifle with exceptional stopping power. The “Quickhatch” is a gluttonous firearm that hungers for enemy armour and flesh alike.
In-game description

The “Quickhatch” Rt.I (also known as the ATSR) is a Colonial Sniper Rifle. It fires 20mm ammunition.

Description

It is a Colonial bolt-action 20mm primary weapon with very high damage (150-225) Anti-Tank Kinetic damage, slow fire rate (30 rounds/min), extreme range (52.5m effective, 57.5m max), and a 6 round magazine. It is extremely accurate and has a high recoil. It always downs its infantry targets in a single shot within its effective range. Its accuracy is extremely slow to stabilize even with a stable position. Its practical fire rate is around 8.4 rounds/min when prone (8.7 with added full cover). As a Sniper Rifle, it gains very little stability from cover unlike most firearms, thus making its use in the standing position very slow. Any movement significantly impacts the gun's stability.

It is heavy (250) and significantly slows the player when wielded. It cannot be fired while standing without cover or from an Landing APC or Barge.

It is effective against both infantry and light armoured vehicles. However it struggles to do significant damage against heavy armored vehicles like Tanks and Field Weapons. It also damages the integrity of vehicle Tank Armour by an amount equal to 3.5 times the damage dealt (i.e. 79-119 armour points per shot on heavy armored vehicles in the gun's effective range).

It can destroy deployed tripods but does no damage to all other structures.

The Soldier Uniform reduces its Weight by 25%.

It does not stack in the player's inventory (1 per slot).

Storage

It does not stack in structure or vehicle inventories (1 per slot). It can only be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max).
Crates of “Quickhatch” Rt.I can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content. The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots. However it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates, either delivering them to a Base's stockpile with a Truck or to a crate stockpile with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers.

Tactics

The Quickhatch hard counters Mounted Weapons installed on tripods, it can kill them in just 6 or 8 shots from a safe distance.

Due to the heavy movement penalty when wielding the gun it's better to switch to a secondary weapon when on the move.

Trivia

  • The Quickhatch bears similarity to a number of real-world WWII anti-tank rifles, notably the Polish Wz.35 in the shape of the stock and bipod, the Swiss Solothurn S-18/100 in the receiver, and the Soviet PTRD-41 in the muzzle brake.
